Week 9 Predictions
Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - 7:47 AM
It's the final week of the season. . . and at this point you are either in the playoffs, or you aren't. Red Hill is the only team that is still on the bubble, and they have the daunting task of beating Marshall @ Marshall. . . Every other team is making travel/hosting arrangements for the 1st round Playoffs, but the Salukis are going to have to give everything they've got to get in.

Game 1: Red Hill @ Marshall *Game Of The Week*

This is the game everybody will be asking about this week. There is so much riding on it for one team, that they will play their guts out to prove they are worthy of the playoffs. Marshall has only had one setback this year from the Warriors, but they have rolled everybody since that point.  The Lions are tough
Week 8 Predictions
Thursday, October 15, 2009 - 7:24 AM
Another week down, and only two left in the regular season. . . .The weather has turned cold and wet, and the elements will play a big part in this weeks games (not as much as last week, at least not yet anyways).

After a big Oil Field Trophy/Homecoming victory over the Indians, the Salukis are riding high. . .  that is until a few bad choices and violation of athletic conduct code has the Salukis playing without a couple of more players, which chalks their total up to about 7 or 8 on the year who could have helped the team. . . .but, the show will go on, and they will have to live with their decisions for the rest of their lives.

But alas, we can't live their lives for them.

Game 1: Red Hill @ Oblong

Red Hill is still holding on
Week 7 Predictions
Thursday, October 08, 2009 - 5:21 PM
Another week of football has come around, and the buzz around Lawrence County is definitely about Friday's game. Two teams that are a mere 4 miles apart are going to meet in Bridgeport tomorrow night, and more than the oilfield trophy is on the line. Now it's about pride.

I am picking all the home teams this week. . . as the planets will align and make me go 5-0. . .

Game 1: Lawrenceville @ Red Hill *GAME OF THE WEEK*

This is easily the game of the week. No better rivalry  in this part of the state if you ask me than Red Hill and Lawrenceville. Two teams who will be playing for pride this week. A loss for Red Hill puts them out of the Playoffs, while a win keeps their hopes alive. A win for the Indians will give them something to talk
Week 6 Predictions
Thursday, October 01, 2009 - 7:42 AM
Week 6 is here, and we have moved past the bad weather and straight into fall. Should be excellent football weather this weekend, and my Salukis have a  Saturday afternoon "playoff type" game against the visiting LeRoy Panthers.

What do I know about the Panthers?

They have a load of talent in the backfield, and are a big play team. Once they get to the secondary, they are gone.

I don't have any numbers to match their names, but here is the Deal:

They are currently 4-1 in their Heart of Illinois Conference.

In at least two games they have ran 40 some odd Running plays, not a passing team at all. . . they have passed a couple of times, but they will run the ball down your throat with about 4 different runningbacks.

Very Capable of putting
Week 5 Predictions
Monday, September 21, 2009 - 8:50 AM

I wanted to get my predictions out WAY early this week, as I have a bunch of stuff to work on this week.  The Salukis almost pulled one out last week against a tough Flora team, but lost a heart breaker in double overtime. I feel confident that we can beat E.C this week, but our run defense has to improve.

Game 1: Edwards County @ Red Hill

The Salukis are coming off of a heartbreaking loss to the Wolves in double overtime. Edwards County just got thumped by Marshall. The Salukis have given the Pal-Hut Pioneers their only loss thus far, while E.C has only beaten the Oblong Panthers, who have yet to break into the win column. They both enter this game with the same record of 1-3, so anything is still up in the air for this game. Red

Week 4 Predictions
Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 12:21 PM
Back to the grind. . . another week down, and another week of exciting football is ahead. The Salukis finally broke into the W column by beating Palestine-Hutsonville. Lets see if we can build off of that.

Game 1: Red Hill @ Flora

Flora started off the season strong, but suffered a minor setback last week against Casey. It is tough to win @ Flora, but I believe the Salukis are starting to get their sea legs underneath them now.

    Red Hill 21

    Flora    14

Game 2: Marshall @ Edwards Co.

Marshall is on a two game winning streak, and looks to capitalize all over EC. Sorry EC, but their Lions are bigger, faster, stronger, than yours.

Week 3 Predictions
Thursday, September 10, 2009 - 8:28 PM
We're now two games into the season, and the conference is full of undefeated teams. . . .I wish Red Hill was one of them, but sadly they are off to their worst start in 6 years. . . If they lose this week and go to 0-3, they will be off to their worst start since 1991. .  I hope that is not the road we are headed down, but I'll still be a fan no matter what...........I am a die-hard Raiders fan, so I know what's it's like to live in a world of wishful thinking.  Hopefully the Salukis can get this ship turned around before it's too late.

Game 1: Edwards County @ Oblong

It's Homecoming week with a side of road construction in Panther Country. Sadly, Edwards County loves to play the spoiler.

    Edwards
Week 2 Predictions
Thursday, September 03, 2009 - 6:59 PM
Week 1 was full of shockers, and I definitely took one on the chin. . . closing out the week with a mere 2-3. . . .That's what I get for betting on Marshall and Lawrenceville I suppose. . . Red Hill will have to play some mistake free football if they want to be the first Saluki team to beat Casey @ Sinclair field.

Game 1: Red Hill @ Casey-Westfield

Red Hill got it's eyes awakened by getting blanked by Cumberland last Friday. Casey showed that they just reload year after year, and are pushing for another trip to the state playoffs. Can Red Hill be the first team to win at Casey? You heard it here first . . .YES THEY WILL

Week 1 Predictions
Thursday, August 27, 2009 - 8:52 AM

It’s football season again!!!! I have a renewed meaning in life everytime this part of the year comes around. The lights come on and the fans fill the stands. The anticipation is almost too much to handle. . . .GET OFF YOUR SEATS AND ON YOUR FEET!!!! It's PICK EM TIME!!!!

Game 1: Newton @ Edwards County

Newton has lost a step or two in years past, but have always had a solid football program. They are always ready to put it on somebody, and Edwards County is going to feel the brunt of this one.

 Newton 35

 EC 7

Game 2 Cumberland @ Red Hill

Cumberland keeps improving every year, and probably has the skill people to suprise some teams. Red Hill reloaded it's backfield. . . and their defense will be too much

LeRoy
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 - 12:21 PM
We'd like to welcome the LeRoy Panthers to Dawg Country this year, as we will be hosting them around the middle of the season.

For information on our new opponent, here is their school website link:

New Website Creation
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 - 12:21 PM
This is now the new home of our website. I had to move to a CMS solution because of how dynamic everything was getting, and I couldn't keep up with hard coding everything I added to the site and re-upload every time something was different. I hope you will enjoy it, as it will make my life a lot easier with all the multiple activities I have going on all at once!

I hope you enjoy the new site and spread the word!

Thanks,

Justin Perrott
